Our family's dream home perched high on a hill overlooking the beautiful river bottoms is your escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Situated in the center of 200 acres for your exploration, this home is ideal for your family's next escape. Reconnect with nature on a nature hike, cast some lines in one of several ponds, or tell stories around a camp fire. Enjoy all of this while staying in a home that includes 30' ceilings, a spiral staircase, fire pole, & a 3-story bunk bed!

Good to know

The home has a wrap around deck and a porch swing so you can take in the beautiful sunrise or sunset each day. For an even higher perch you can walk up to our pavilion and enjoy views from the highest point in the area. There really is no better place to get out of the city and disconnect.

This home is also perfect for a group golf weekend! Just 10 minutes away in Elsberry, you'll find Sun Valley Golf Course, a beautiful spot to spend the day on the greens. Planning to play more than 18 holes? They offer great discounts for extended play. It’s a one-of-a-kind hole that’s equal parts opportunity and frustration. Bring your A-game! The hot tub was delivered after we had pictures taken, which is why you don't see it in the wide angle pictures of the house. It is under the back deck though. We do not allow Bachelor or Bachelorette parties at this home. We welcome cats and dogs. We just ask that they be kept off the furniture. . Please let us know upon booking, there will be a small $100 per pet for each stay. No more than 2 pets per stay.

House Rules

To ensure that there are no misunderstandings please call me if anything is in question, no matter the time of day. Vehicles are to stay on the gravel roads only, absolutely under no circumstances are any vehicles to leave the gravel roads. Absolutely no motorized vehicles on the premises such as ATVs or dirt bikes. This is strictly enforced. You are welcome to hike the trails on the farm but please do not cross any fences or go through any gates. Please stay away from the cow pasture below. There are deer stands throughout the property, for your safety please do not attempt to go in any of them for any reason. Although this is a hunting cabin we cannot allow any firearms of any kind. This is strictly enforced. If our caretaker who lives at the bottom of the hill hears shots he will show up and ask you to leave, no questions asked. Please do not touch the gun safe, if you attempt to type in a code too many times it will lock itself out and it is very expensive to have this corrected. This home is filled with our belongings, please do not go through any cabinets other than those in the kitchen. The garage and basement are not shared spaces, please do not attempt to access them. The hot tub is located under the deck, please feel free to use it. We ask that you cover it each time you use it. NO SMOKING: There is no smoking of any kind in the house. If you need to smoke, please step out back. There will be a $500.00 smoking fee charged if the house smells of smoke. Please please pick up your cigarette butts. Feel free to use the kitchen and the dishes that you need to make yourself feel at home, but please place the dirty dishes in the dishwasher and run it before you leave. There are animal mounts within reach of children and pets, please ensure that no touches these mounts as it will cause damage. There is no way to repair these mounts so the cost for any damage will be the total cost of the mount. Before leaving, please refer to the checkout checklist that has been messaged to you. If you have any questions, please contact us. We would love the opportunity to make things as comfortable and accommodating as possible for you, so please don’t hesitate to call 24 hours a day. Swimming and riding bikes is done at your own risk.

Neighborhood

You are about 5 miles from the nearest town. In Elsberry you can find a grocery store and a few good restaurants. The home it's self is very secluded, allowing you to take in all that nature has to offer. You can walk out on the deck and see the stars clear as day, not something you typically get to enjoy in the city.

Guest Access

The entire home is available for the use besides the garage and the basement where we keep our personal items. The acreage around the home is available for hikes and bike rides, although bikes cannot be provided by us due to our insurance company.

It was a very nice place to stay, especially to stay away from a city. Well warmed house for a family reunion. The owner was very responsive. The house was clean and safe. BBQ grill is available. The living room is big for a fam game. Briefly, recommended!

We had a very incredible stay at this cabin and the experience was great! I would highly recommend anyone who wants to just get away and relax, this is the place to go. The small towns were really fun to explore and provided great entertainment. There were a bunch of antique stores and great places to eat. The property was huge and we did lots of hiking during the day and would wind down in the hot tub at night. Overall, Terry and Adam are great hosts and provided everything you would need for a vacation. Definitely recommend staying here!

Awesome stay. Everything that was advertised and then some. There is no better view of the Missouri Valley being on top of the hill. The house was simply amazing and you can tell there is distinct history with the home. Plenty of space to entertain and vast amounts of land to hike and explore. Our Host, Adam, was always available and checked in on us for all our needs. If you are looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy peace and quiet...look no further. Thank you Adam for a wonder stay and a beautiful home. I highly endorse this fabulous getaway. We will for sure be coming back again.

Great place to stay! The property has a lot of area to hike, relax in the jacuzzi, and enjoy some peaceful time away from the city. We had two dogs and they had a blast running around freely around the property. Highly recommend staying here.

Great home for a weekend of yard games, basketball, Bourbon & Euchre, and seclusion from the outside world. Would recommend to anybody traveling with friends & family for a getaway that is an easy drive from any Midwestern home base

There are trails throughout the farm for hiking and bike riding. These trails are not to be used by vehicles, vehicles must stay on the gravel at all times.
